Treatment of melasma

Melasma is a pigmentation disorder in which dark brown patches on the face appear. This skin condition occurs mainly with women. Hormonal factors probably play the most important role in the development of melasma. Also overexposure to UV rays plays an important role. In StatenClinic you can be treated for melasma. This diagnosis is set by the dermatologist. The treatment can then be carried out either locally (e.g. with a special IPL lamp) or by peelings.
The peeling is done by the skin therapist in cooperation with the dermatologist. This peeling causes the cell division in the skin to accelerate, which is creating a kind of renewal of the epidermis. As a result, the skin will peel off. With the exfoliation, it is hoped that also the excess pigment is discharged. Different peels range from light and organic to moderate and strong. The strength is dependent on different skin types and the subjective skin reactions. Also, we will make pictures of your affected area to compare this later. With the received data we will make a suitable package just for you.
You will find the standard peeling rates in our price list for dermato-cosmetics. If the dermatologist advises you to use the highly effective but complex Cosmelan® treatment, you will receive an individual price offer. Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
